Boundary House in Welwyn Garden City, which houses around 45 families, has become one property where Waltham Forest houses residents temporarily because it says there are no homes in the borough available. Although supposed to be temporary, people can end up in these ‘temporary’ properties for years.
The property is owned by Thule Investments Ltd, that rents the homes to the council, while residents say that repairs are not done and the condition of the premises is left in a hazardous condition, putting their families’ health at risk.
Residents visit Waltham Forest Housing offices to outline their concerns in an attempt to get the council to get the owners to address the issues. They manage to get a meeting with John Knight (Director of Housing at Waltham Forest council), whether this resolves problems for the families remains to be seen.
