This contains footage of the Akai Gurley protests while awaiting the decision of judge Danny Chun as to whether to not Peter Liang would serve any jail time for the murder of Akai Gurley. The was given a recommendation by the district attorney of “no jail” time. The ultimately agreed, issuing a sentence of 800 hours community service and probation. This video is about the hostility of police during the protests and reporters who appeared to show no regard for grief of the family, because they were in hot pursuit of getting their story. Emotions were running high through out it all and several mothers who themselves had lost children to police were “overcome” with pain, sorry, and anger upon hearing the decision of the judge of no jail time.
