Chicago Police Retire to Avoid Punishment, Then Collect Massive Pensions

Six Chicago police officers who are retiring to avoid punishment in the wake of a recent scandal surrounding the Chicago Police Department will receive pensions worth more than $100,000 a year, according to the Chicago Sun-Times. Nearly two months ago, Chicago Inspector General Joe Ferguson issued a report to Mayor Rahm Emanuel recommending he fire the officers, who were all involved in an alleged cover-up of a 2004 involuntary manslaughter case.
