Over 60 people show up at the 5 p.m. candlelight vigil on Saturday 12/256/15, at Shemanski Park, in Portland Oregon for Sandra Bland.

As you know, the grand jury in Texas decided that Sandra Bland’s death was her own fault and returned no indictments of anyone for anything. Bland was the African American woman who was pulled over for changing lanes to allow a policeman to pass and who was then ordered to get out of her car. She asserted her civil and human rights and was yelled at by the deputy: I’ll light you up! She was brutalized, arrested, and jailed. Three days later she was found hanging with a plastic bag over her head.

This candlelight vigil is in her memory, a time to gather to send a message to her family that she is remembered and that we condemn her unindicted killers.
