Dear Mr Cameron,
Under your astonishing misrule Britain has been subject to the most underhanded, vicious, vilification and demonisation of the poor in history.
George Osborne was ahead of the game in his 2012 conference speech with: “Where is the fairness, we ask, for the shift worker, leaving home in the dark hours of the early morning, who looks up at the closed blinds of their next door neighbour sleeping off a life on benefits?”
David Freud came up with this little nugget: “Poor people should be prepared to take more risks because they have the least to lose.”
The media, not be outdone, has been fully complicit in your war on the poor making ‘Poverty Porn’ a household term.
The latest example of kicking people when they are down has emerged from Farnborough in the shape of Work and Pensions Officer Dawn-Marie Sanders apparently telling a man on her Facebook account to: “get a fucking job or hang yourself” and “You are a drain on society… start paying taxes or hang yourself. I have rope…”
In her defence Sanders is reported to have claimed, “she was hacked or the messages were posted by her 14-year-old son.”
Clearly Britain has lost its way under your relentless onslaught against the poor because what parent in their right mind lays the blame (not withstanding that this is completely unsubstantiated) on her 14 year old son in public? Is this the calibre of staff Jobcentre employ? Iain Duncan Smith would probably give her a medal.
Well done, Mr Cameron, this is what you have reduced this country to. People have completely lost their minds. 2014 was bad, 2015 is going to require our best efforts to reclaim our nation.
