Dear Mr Cameron,
Given that lying for you as a politician is a way of life, there are two things that must happen if we are to end the corruption in politics. People must come before politics and people must come before profit. We must see an end to ideology and base greed if this country is to have a future.
Successive governments from Thatcher onwards have pursued ideological aims to the vast detriment of Britain, the breaking of the unions, the illegal invasion of Iraq, austerity and the privatisation of the state to name but four. The privatisation of the state segues nicely into profit and greed, vulture capitalism takes from the state and feeds corporate greed but includes such mad projects as fracking, which will only benefit fracking companies, but will be of no benefit to consumers, the environment , our water supply, or communities.
Britain is broken because you, politicians, fail to put people first, in fact, in Britain today the people come last with no consideration for their lives and well being. But that raises another issue that needs addressing, people before privilege and no party has ever exemplified this better than you and your government. Iain Duncan Smith refers to the poor on benefits as stock and Freud considers that poor people should take the greatest risks because they already have nothing.
Such attitudes are the prejudices of the privileged. We really do mean nothing to you, serfs for subjugation, or now, slaves for benefits.
So we have the three great enemies of the people, the three P’s of Politics, Profit and Privilege. Tony Benn said, “Every generation must fight the same battles again and again. There’s no final victory and there’s no final defeat.” If fight we must then fight we will.
