Iain Duncan Smith… Arguably the most hated man in Britain has spent £75,000 of tax payer’s money to find out that the bedroom tax (spare room subsidy) is hated. This is after being told by over 50 bosses of charities that his policy is having a “devastating impact” on people with disabilities.
What was he hoping for? Perhaps in a fit of delusional nastiness he was expecting to hear the bedroom tax was not hated, and therefore vindicate his complete disregard for vulnerable people and their circumstances. Perhaps he’s been expecting to hear that his policies have been accepted on the grounds that some good was being done elsewhere by the money he was saving..(not much evidence to back up that theory either considering how the rich poor divide is increasing to record levels under Tory rule, also consider the litany of vindictive policies against the unemployed and sick that IDS has implemented since 2010 with the help of Atos and Job center unpaid workfare contracts…and don’t get us started about his monumental waste of taxes so far on the Universal Credit scheme).
Iain, we could have told you that your policies are hated without the need to spend £75,000 intended for our infrastructure. That money would have paid the bedroom tax for more than 5,300 victims of the hated policy, and all so you can attempt to justify the unjustifiable.
In a nutshell, we don’t want you or your vile policies.
